Your Walk with Jesus

How to be saved and have your name in the Book of Life

Admit you are a sinner:
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Realize you can’t save yourself:
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Know that Jesus died for you:
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Invite Jesus to be your Savior:
John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the Sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.

A suggested Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. I understand that you died on the cross to pay the penalty of my sin. I invite you to be my Savior and to forgive my sin. Thank you, Jesus, for paying the price so I can have an eternal home in Heaven.

THE REALITY OF THE SPIRITUAL BATTLE
by Pastor Roger Neir

If you are a Christian, Satan is at war with you!  If you are not a Christian, Satan will make every effort to keep you in his kingdom.

II Corinthians 4:4 (speaking of those who have not trusted Jesus for salvation) In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Jesus said in John 10:10 that Satan purposes three destructive works in lives. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy; I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Ephesians 6:12 Explains where the real battle is going on in our lives.  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Since that is our situation as a Christian,we need to know how-to-live-in victory with God’s protection.  We also need to war a good warfare in ministering to family and friends.

Paul introduces the full armor of God in Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.  His very next word in verse 11 is: Put on the Whole Armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

In Ephesians 6 the two reasons for appropriating the Whole Armor of God are (1) Ability to stand against his wiles or schemes set against your victory, and (2) To be able to withstand in the evil day.

The purpose of the Whole Armor of God is to be able to live in overcoming power and victory.  It is important to verbally put on the pieces of the Armor every day and to pray as in verse 18.

Another wonderful provision for our protection is found in Psalm 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

The Psalmist explains the wonderful promises under God’s shadow of protection and blessing.

Because I believe that God has His plans for us every day and that also our enemy has studied us and has his plans for us, I put together what I call “The Daily Prayer.”  God has made provision for us to walk in victory, we need to make them our own every day!

My Daily Prayer

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for the gift of this day and your mercies that are new today. I choose to accept your plans and provisions for me this day, and I ask for your grace to walk in them. I renounce and refuse, in the name of Jesus Christ, all that is planned for me this day from the kingdom of darkness, and I put on the Whole Armor of God. I put on the Helmet of Salvation and the Breastplate of Righteousness; I put on the Belt of Truth and the Sandals of Peace; I take up the Shield of Faith and the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. I choose this day to dwell in your secret place under your shadow and under your wings, Heavenly Father. Thank you for your protecting care for me this day.

Daily Affirmation for Service

I choose this day to abide in You, Lord Jesus, for You to live through me to accomplish Your purpose.  I choose also to yoke up with You, Lord Jesus, so that I will be with You in that which You are doing in the place of Your choosing.  Thank you for my small part in Your work through me.  I trust You for Your sufficient grace, that Your strength may be perfected in my weakness.  The result is Yours.
